Baseball Recap: Avalon Wins Going Away Against St. Anselm's Abbey

Avalon got themselves on the board against St. Anselm's Abbey on Wednesday, but St. Anselm's Abbey never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 11-0 victory. The Black Knights haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Avalon got a massive performance out of Javeth Carrion, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. The Black Knights are 2-1 when Carrion posts two or more runs, but 2-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Micah Owonu, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Avalon's record now sits at 4-10. As for St. Anselm's Abbey, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avalon will welcome Jackson-Reed at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Black Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for St. Anselm's Abbey, they will be playing at home against Sandy Spring Friends at 4:15 p.m. on the 25th.
