Baseball Recap: Eastern Wayne Takes a Loss

Eastern Wayne couldn't beat North Pitt on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Warriors came up short against the Panthers, falling 25-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-1 back in March.

Jayden Benjamin made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Elpidio Garcia Jr was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Eastern Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for North Pitt, their win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-16.

Coincidentally, Eastern Wayne and North Pitt will both be playing Washington the next time they take the field. The Warriors will head out to face the Pam Pack at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Panthers will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
