Volleyball Game Preview: Legacy Lightning vs. Fossil Ridge SaberCats

The Legacy Lightning will head out on the road to square off against the Fossil Ridge SaberCats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Legacy sitting on 14 straight victories and Fossil Ridge on three.

Last Thursday, Legacy made easy work of Greeley Central and carried off a 3-0 win.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20, 25-15.

Elisha Thao had an outrageously good game as he had 16 digs and three assists. That's the most digs he has posted since back in March.

Legacy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Fossil Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Denver East on Saturday, taking the game 3-1.

Fossil Ridge was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-18, 18-25, 25-22.

Legacy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-0. As for Fossil Ridge, their record now sits at 9-4.

Everything went Legacy's way against Fossil Ridge when the teams last played back in March, as Legacy made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lightning since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
