Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Oak Ridge's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Oak Ridge walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Tracy Bulldogs 4-3 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in February.

Ellison Schroeder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Oak Ridge got a big performance out of Emery Glaser, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Glaser is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aly Watson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one double.

Oak Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Tracy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 21 games and leaves them with a 28-3 record.

Oak Ridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Del Oro on the 24th. Tracy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
