Basketball Recap: Donavin Mobley Key Part of a Team Effort in Mustangs Win

There's no place like home for Laton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down the Maricopa Indians 40-25 on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Indians last Wednesday, they had to take a 43-26 loss.

Laton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Donavin Mobley, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points along with eight boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Mobley a new career-high in points. Yann Jimenez was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Laton was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maricopa only racked up three assists.

When it comes to explaining why Maricopa lost, don't look at Jeremiah Bush. Despite the final result, he posted four points and five steals.

The win snapped Laton's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-14 record. As for Maricopa, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-5 record.

Laton will welcome Alpaugh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Laton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Maricopa, they are taking a road trip to square off against Valley Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
