Softball Game Preview: Santa Monica Vikings vs. Carson Colts

The Santa Monica Vikings will challenge the Carson Colts at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Santa Monica has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Santa Monica is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Tuesday. They lost 13-1 to Simi Valley.

Meanwhile, Carson didn't have quite enough to beat Simi Valley on Tuesday and fell 4-2. The loss put an end to the Colts' undefeated start to the season.

Isabella Campos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ruby Grajeda was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Kiarah Chukwudi, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Carson fell to 2-1. As for Santa Monica, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
