It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wheeler had no problem doing just that on Friday. They managed a 13-7 victory over the Boone Grove Wolves. The win was nothing new for the Bearcats as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Jayden Ortiz was his usual excellent self, rushing for 165 yards and a touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards. Tyne Vettickal also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Wheeler pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Boone Grove, they moved to 6-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
