Softball Recap: Franklin County Comes Up Short

Franklin County lost against Connersville back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2.

Brooke Stang made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Franklin County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Connersville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Franklin County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against New Castle on the 10th. As for Connersville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-10 victory against Columbus East on the 9th.
