Basketball Recap: College Achieve's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

After a string of 12 wins dating back to last season, College Achieve's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 84-83 to the Phelps Lions. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (58), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Phelps' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Onyx Nnani, who went 8 for 19 on his way to 27 points and seven rebounds. Nnani's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyce Bakare, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 22 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, College Achieve fell to 3-1. As for Phelps, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6.

College Achieve won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Phelps, they will take on William Penn Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Phelps' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
