Basketball Preview: Braden River Pirates vs. Boca Ciega Pirates
The Braden River Pirates and the Boca Ciega Pirates will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Braden River got the win against the Vikings by a conclusive 47-22. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Braden River.
Kelis Mcgrady and Emily Dalton were among the main playmakers for Braden River as the former scored nine points along with four steals and the latter scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Dalton is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Helton, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Boca Ciega came into Wednesday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past Largo with a 53-49 victory on Wednesday. The victory was just what Boca Ciega needed coming off of a 70-48 defeat in their prior contest.
Braden River is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season. As for Boca Ciega, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12.
