Archbishop McCarthy won against Miami Christian last Wednesday with two runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Mavericks skirted past the West Broward Bobcats 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Mavericks as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Zachary Tavarez looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Archbishop McCarthy is 8-3 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Archbishop McCarthy's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caden Coleman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Archbishop McCarthy pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for West Broward, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.

Looking ahead, Archbishop McCarthy will square off against Chaminade-Madonna at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Mavericks surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Broward, they will welcome Pembroke Pines Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
