Recap: River Valley Falcons vs. Inderkum Tigers
The River Valley Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. The New Year welcomed they with a 93-39 whooping from Inderkum. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for River Valley in their matchups with Inderkum: they've now lost eight in a row.
River Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jai Chohan, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayvione Brown, who scored 14 points.
River Valley struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Inderkum can attribute much of their success to Bryce Buchanan, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Buchanan scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Malachi Johnson, who scored 13 points.
River Valley's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-11. As for Inderkum, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
River Valley will head out on the road to face off against Bella Vista at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bella Vista and River Valley are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Inderkum, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Roseville at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Roseville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
