Recap: Spring Valley Vikings vs. Blythewood Bengals

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Spring Valley Vikings ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 77-68 win over Blythewood. Winning may never get old, but Spring Valley sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Blythewood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 16 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hayley Hightower, who scored 21 points along with six assists and three steals.

Spring Valley pushed their record up to 14-11 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Blythewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Spring Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Blythewood, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Spartanburg at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Blythewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
