Baseball Recap: Rhodes Takes a Loss

Rootstown hit Rhodes with a ten-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams came up short against the Rovers, falling 15-1. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rhodes saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roberto Benitez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Benitez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Rhodes' defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Rootstown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Rhodes and Rootstown are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Rams will head out on the road to take on North Royalton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rootstown, they will challenge Waterloo at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
