Baseball Game Preview: Golden Valley Cougars vs. Los Banos Tigers

The Golden Valley Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Los Banos Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Golden Valley has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 28.

Golden Valley fell victim to Central Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Hawks.

Meanwhile, Los Banos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of Buhach Colony.

Jaylen Walton and Colton Kocher stepped up to the plate in a big way. Walton went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Kocher went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayner McMurray, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Golden Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Los Banos, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Golden Valley suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Los Banos when the teams last played back in February of 2019. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
