Trenton is a perfect 10-0 against Taylor since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Trojans will look to defend their home field against the Griffins at 4:00 p.m. Trenton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Trenton made easy work of Milan and carried off an 18-4 victory.
Lauryn Holder spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Trenton got a massive performance out of Emme Febela, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kara Fedea, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Trenton lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Taylor ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Inter-City Baptist, sneaking past 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Griffins in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won five in a row.
Madelynn Waddell ?26 and Joslyn MacKenzie ?25 made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Waddell ?26 tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, MacKenzie ?25 struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. At the plate, Waddell ?26 went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while MacKenzie ?25 went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That triple was Waddell ?26's first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amelia Adams ?27, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those stolen bases were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sierra Murdoch ?25, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Taylor pushed their record up to 4-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Trenton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
Everything went Trenton's way against Taylor in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Trenton made off with a 15-0 win. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Griffins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
