Basketball Preview: Pine River Area Bucks vs. Manton Rangers
Pine River Area is 2-8 against the Rangers since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Pine River Area Bucks will be playing at home against the Manton Rangers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Pine River Area ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-51 win over Evart. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pine River Area.
Nathan Marks had a dynamite game for Pine River Area, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marks has scored all season. Eli Smith was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Manton beat the Comets on Tuesday by the very same score they won with last week: 56-50.
Pine River Area is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Manton, they pushed their record up to 7-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Pine River Area strolled past the Rangers when the teams last played back in January by a score of 62-45. Does Pine River Area have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rangers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
