Ernie Powers Turns in Season-Best Performance

Ernie Powers produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Franklin to the win on Friday. Powers rushed for 316 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 138 or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

Franklin pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Powers and Franklin will welcome Socorro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Pebble Hills Gets a Boost from Quarles in 38-7 Victory

Zereian Quarles's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his fifth-straight game with 127+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 50 yards.

This season, Quarles has run in 12 touchdowns while averaging 154.5 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had six rushing touchdowns.

Luke Lomeli Dazzles in Eastlake Victory

Eastlake picked up their third consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Luke Lomeli. Nobody could stop Lomeli as he threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes.

Socorro's probably not too fond of Lomeli given he always seems to get the better of them. When Lomeli last faced the Bulldogs back in September of 2023, he threw for 328 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt.

Another Game with at Least Six Total Tackles from Dorian Jaramillo

Dorian Jaramillo continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his 17th-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least six total tackles. He picked up 1.5 sacks, made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended a pass.

Montwood's probably not too fond of Jaramillo given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Jaramillo saw the Rams), he made 17 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Chris Garcia Makes It Two for Eastlake

Another Eastlake player making an appearance on this list is Chris Garcia. He picked up 123 receiving yards and a touchdown. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 71 yards.
