Charles J. Colgan dropped their record down to 13-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's 13-game streak of wins. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (1-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The match marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

As for Hylton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 25, 2024.

For Hylton's part, the result came thanks to Alanis Layne's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks. Layne has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hylton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luana Plummer, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
