Baseball Recap: Mogollon Takes a Loss

Mogollon was the 7-1 winner over St. Johns when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redskins on Tuesday. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Mogollon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yoyo Suarez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Mogollon and nudges their season record down to 16-5. As for St. Johns, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-11-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mogollon will venture away from home to take on Superior at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Mustangs are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Johns, they are taking a road trip to challenge Round Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
