Basketball Recap: Osborne Falls Despite Big Games from Camielle Braswell and Maliya Washington

Osborne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 44-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McEachern Indians. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Indians are ranked 131st).

Despite the defeat, Osborne had strong showings from Maliya Washington, who went 5 for 11 en route to 14 points, and Camielle Braswell, who posted eight points. The dominant performance also gave Braswell a new career-high in field goal percentage (75%).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McEachern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chelsea Njoku, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Njoku has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Exxence Hubbard, who had nine points and eight rebounds.

Osborne's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for McEachern, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-13.

Osborne has already played their next game, a 101-41 defeat against Paulding County on the 7th. As for McEachern, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-30 victory against Harrison on the 7th.
