Soccer Recap: Shadow Ridge Has No Trouble Against Browne

Shadow Ridge kept a clean sheet against Browne on Friday. They put the hurt on the Browne Bruins with a sharp 3-0 victory. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked third, while the Bruins are ranked 26th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shadow Ridge hit Browne with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Adam Woodbeck, Jacob Engwall, and Nathan Johansen.

Shadow Ridge pushed their record up to 5-1-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Browne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shadow Ridge will take on Desert Vista in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Desert Vista's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Browne, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Independence at 5:00 p.m. on December 27th.
