Baseball Game Preview: Lake Brantley Patriots vs. Hagerty Huskies

The Lake Brantley Patriots will challenge the Hagerty Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Last Wednesday, Lake Brantley sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Olympia. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won four in a row.

Nick Burgos tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Julian Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maurice Brown, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hagerty narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lake Nona 3-1.

M. Alfonso looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

Hagerty's victory bumped their record up to 19-2-1. As for Lake Brantley, their win bumped their record up to 14-5-1.
