Baseball Recap: Mountain Pine Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Mountain Pine hadn't done well against Magnet Cove recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Red Devils blew past the Panthers 12-2. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Mountain Pine let Cale Slaten and Aidan Putman run wild. Slaten scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Putman went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Putman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jace Beals, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Mountain Pine's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Magnet Cove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Pine will host Spring Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Magnet Cove, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ouachita at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
