Football Game Preview: Morton Panthers vs. Forest Bearcats + How To Watch

The Morton Panthers will head out to square off against the Forest Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Forest will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Morton extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Panthers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Raymond 73-28. That 45 point margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Morton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dakota Martin out in front who rushed for 105 yards and one score. Those 105 rushing yards gave Martin a new career-high. Avonte Reese was in the mix too, providing Morton with two TDs.

Morton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dolph Mcdonald and Davarius McDonald. Mcdonald got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Forest against Richland on Friday as the squad secured a 41-3 win. With the Bearcats ahead 28-3 at the half, the game was all but over already.

One reason for the win was Forest's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Richland's QB won't forget Shamar Evans anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Another thorn in the Rangers' side was Gregory Keeton, who picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles (6.0 for loss).

Morton's record is now 5-3. As for Forest, their record now sits at 7-2.

Morton might still be hurting after the 28-3 loss they got from Forest in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
