It was a good run, but Springfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Norton Panthers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Spartans have suffered since August 21st.

Springfield was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-20.

Norton was led to victory by Haley Sanderson and Helena Garofalo. Sanderson had 13 digs and two aces, while Garofalo had three digs and three aces. Sanderson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Norton, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Springfield and Norton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Spartans (ranked 191st) will meet Woodridge (ranked 520th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Norton will challenge Louisville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (117 vs. 249).
