Durham School of the Arts has gone 7-1 against Vance County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Last Monday, Durham School of the Arts was able to grind out a solid win over NCSSM: Durham, taking the game 9-6. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Unicorns: they've now won six in a row.

Oliver Seed spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Vaughn Rogers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Michael Matuszewski, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Durham School of the Arts was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as NCSSM: Durham only posted a batting average of .061.

Meanwhile, Vance County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Oxford Prep, falling 20-0.

Vance County's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Durham School of the Arts, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Durham School of the Arts beat Vance County 14-9 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will Durham School of the Arts repeat their success, or does Vance County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
