Softball Recap: Ridge View Takes a Loss

Ridge View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 21-20 heartbreaker at the hands of the Spring Valley Vikings. Even if the Blazers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Helena Wright was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with three runs and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Sierra Lowman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances.

Ridge View's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Spring Valley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridge View will face off against Dreher at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Spring Valley, they will venture away from home to take on Ridge View at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
