Recap: Shawnee Indians vs. Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds
The Shawnee Indians lost against the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds on December 2nd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Shawnee ended up on the wrong side of a tough 75-49 walloping at the hands of Lima Central Catholic. Shawnee has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Shawnee's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Lynch, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Lynch scored a full 26.5% of Shawnee's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Beckett Bertke was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Shawnee's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Lima Central Catholic, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Shawnee will be staying on the road on January 5, 2024 to face off against Celina at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Lima Central Catholic, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Ottawa-Glandorf at 4:00 p.m. on December 30th. Ottawa-Glandorf knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Lima Central Catholic likes a good challenge.
