Basketball Game Preview: Mission Hills Grizzlies vs. Vista Panthers

The Mission Hills Grizzlies will take on the Vista Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mission Hills comes in on four and Vista on three.

Mission Hills picked up another tournament win last Monday. They came out on top against Mira Mesa by a score of 55-45. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Grizzlies' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Marauders are ranked 88th).

Meanwhile, Vista was able to grind out a solid win over Del Lago Academy on Wednesday, taking the game 54-44.

Vista's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.1 points per game. As for Mission Hills, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.

Mission Hills was able to grind out a solid victory over Vista in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 60-50. Will Mission Hills repeat their success, or does Vista have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
