Football Recap: Forsan Skates Past Colorado with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Forsan). They breezed past the Colorado Wolves to the tune of 61-27 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won five in a row.

One reason for the win was Forsan's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Oscar Holguin, Matthew Blakeney, and Korbett Worden, who each picked up one sack apiece.

When it comes to explaining why Colorado lost, don't look at Ace Mejia. Despite the final result, he threw for 252 yards and two TDs while completing 72.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 63 yards and one touchdown. A healthy portion of Mejia's aerial production (143 yards to be exact) went to Brandon Lee, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Forsan's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Colorado, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
