Basketball Game Preview: Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs vs. Beaches Chapel Lions

The Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs will square off against the Beaches Chapel Lions at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meadowbrook Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60 points per game this season.

Meadowbrook Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Cornerstone Academy 59-31. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 26 points or more this season.

Meadowbrook Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Luzarraga, who posted 13 points and seven boards. Those seven rebounds gave Luzarraga a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gaige Daugherty, who earned 11 points.

Meanwhile, Beaches Chapel hadn't done well against Temple Christian Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Beaches Chapel walked away with a 59-49 win over Temple Christian Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Beaches Chapel is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Meadowbrook Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.
