Kouts and River Forest are an even 4-4 against one another  since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Mustangs & Fillies will host the Ingots  at 4:45  p.m.  on Thursday. Kouts is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4  runs per game  this season.
Kouts fought the good fight in their extra-innings  matchup against Jimtown  on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jimmies by a score of  5-4. The Mustangs & Fillies' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
  Billy Miller was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cooper Whitaker, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for River Forest's offense. They came up short against  Illiana Christian on Tuesday, falling  16-0. The Ingots have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
 River Forest saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ryder Yates, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base.
 Kouts' loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for River Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Thursday's   contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kouts hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like River Forest struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .379. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
