Basketball Recap: Platte/Geddes Takes a Loss

Platte/Geddes and Cheyenne-Eagle Butte squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Platte/Geddes had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves by a score of 58-55. If the Black Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 72-68 to the Braves when the teams met back in December of 2014, then they'll just have to keep looking.

With the defeat, Platte/Geddes broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5.

Platte/Geddes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, they will challenge Hill City on Tuesday. Hill City will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Cheyenne-Eagle Butte surely won't give up without a fight.
