Recap: Seekonk Warriors vs. Old Rochester Regional Bulldogs
The Seekonk Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. 2024 welcomed they with a 68-43 loss courtesy of Old Rochester Regional. While losing is never fun, Seekonk can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Old Rochester Regional is ranked 27th).
Seekonk's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Beausoleil, who scored 17 points. Beausoleil scored a full 39.5% of Seekonk's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Greyson Baldizar, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Seekonk's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Old Rochester Regional, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Seekonk will head out on the road to face off against Greater New Bedford RVT at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greater New Bedford RVT comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Old Rochester Regional, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Somerset Berkley Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Somerset Berkley Regional is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
