Softball Game Preview: Paramount Pirates vs. Bellflower Buccaneers

The Paramount Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Bellflower Buccaneers at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Paramount is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Paramount is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Lynwood with a sharp 18-0 win on Thursday. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Delylah Zermeno made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, MIA MONTIJO was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two triples, five RBI, and two runs. Evengelina Asoau was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.

Paramount always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Norwalk hit Bellflower with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Buccaneers came up short against the Lancers, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Buccaneers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Paramount's record is now 7-4-1. As for Bellflower, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything went Paramount's way against Bellflower in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Paramount made off with a 9-3 victory. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Buccaneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
