Hoover had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Fresno on Thursday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Hoover never let Fresno on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-21, 25-22.

Hoover's victory bumped their record up to 11-17. As for Fresno, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-17.
