The Smith County Owls's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They breezed by Monterey at home to the tune of 60-22. That looming 60-22 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Smith County yet this season.

Monterey's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Roberson-Barber, who scored five points along with six rebounds.

Smith County's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10. As for Monterey, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smith County's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Watertown at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Watertown is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Monterey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
