Basketball Recap: Telfair County Gets the Win

Telfair County won the last time they faced Toombs County, and Ty'Kristiany Jones did her part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Telfair County Trojans' way against the Toombs County Bulldogs on Saturday as the Telfair County Trojans made off with a 49-28 win thanks in part to Jones, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Trinity Deeds also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season. What's more, she also racked up four rebounds, the most she's had since back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Toombs County still got an impressive performance from Arianna Hill, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

Telfair County's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Toombs County, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Telfair County will square off against Hawkinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Telfair County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season. As for Toombs County, they will face off against Savannah Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Toombs County is facing Savannah Christian at the right time seeing as Savannah Christian is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
