Flag Football Recap: LaFayette Comes Up Short

LaFayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gilmer Bobcats.

Despite the loss, LaFayette still got an impressive performance from Prezleigh Baty, who rushed for 48 yards, and also threw for 87 yards and one TD. Lexi Underwood got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

LaFayette's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Gilmer, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Looking ahead, LaFayette will face off against Fannin County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels' defense has only allowed 8.5 points per game this season, so the Ramblers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Gilmer, they will challenge Dawson County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bobcats 14.6, the Tigers 9.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
