Baseball Recap: Aztec Has No Trouble Against Gallup

Aztec won the last time they faced Gallup and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Bengals.

Tyler Ray spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Aztec is 4-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Jadyn Brooks was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Kale Watson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Aztec's record is now 8-13. As for Gallup, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Aztec wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-5 victory against Shiprock on the 17th. As for Gallup, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-3 defeat against Bloomfield on the 17th.
