After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mountainair, Corona/Vaughn was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They slipped by the Carrizozo Grizzlies 54-53. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Grizzlies back in January, they had to take a 63-55 loss.

Corona/Vaughn's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-18. As for Carrizozo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Coincidentally, Corona/Vaughn and Carrizozo will both be playing Alamo Navajo the next time they take the court. Carrizozo will head out to face Alamo Navajo at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Corona/Vaughn will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
