Softball Recap: Jersey Victorious

Jersey's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Mattoon Greenwave by a score of 8-4.

The team relied heavily on Anna Kribs, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs. Maleah Derrick was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Jersey hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mattoon struck out nine times.

Jersey's win bumped their record up to 18-10. As for Mattoon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Jersey nor Mattoon have any future games scheduled.
