Basketball Game Preview: Leonardtown Raiders vs. North Point Eagles

Leonardtown hasn't had much luck against North Point recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Leonardtown Raiders will be taking part in a tournament against the North Point Eagles at 6:45 p.m. Leonardtown's defense has only allowed 25.7 points per game this season, so North Point's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Leonardtown's usually-dominant defense will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Urbana offense got past them. Leonardtown lost to Urbana at home by a 55-41 margin on Friday.

Meanwhile, North Point had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 42-31.

North Point's victory was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points over those games. As for Leonardtown, their loss dropped their record down to 19-2.

Leonardtown didn't have too much breathing room in their match against North Point in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 35-30 win.
