Fort Cherry extended their winning streak to seven on Monday, bumping their season record up to 10-4 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the California Trojans. The Rangers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

Ryan Huey and Ben Demascal did most of the damage at the plate: Huey went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Demascal went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

As for California, they dropped their record down to 5-8-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those home losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

On California's side, Caden Monticelli spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits. Monticelli has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, California saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ricky Lawson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Fort Cherry will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
