Basketball Recap: Gilead Christian Comes Up Short

If Gilead Christian was riding high fresh off their 45-17 takedown of Warsaw W last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gilead Christian Eagles fell to the Zanesville Christian Warriors 51-47. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-47 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Gilead Christian lost on Friday, don't look at Talan Blankenship. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 17 en route to 23 points. Gage Beacom was another key player, going 5 of 12 on his way to 11 points and eight boards.

Gilead Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Zanesville Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Gilead Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-48 win against Varsity Opponent on the 1st. Zanesville Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
