Softball Recap: Jourdanton Finds Playoff Glory Versus Santa Gertrudis Academy

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Jourdanton walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions on Friday, sneaking past 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Indians/Squaws sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Hailey Sralik spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 21 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jourdanton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Floyd, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Jourdanton's win bumped their record up to 25-14. As for Santa Gertrudis Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 28-9 record.

Jourdanton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
