The Prairie Falcons will square off against the Heritage Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Prairie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Prairie came out on top against La Center on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run sixth inning. The Falcons put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 18-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.
Mackenzie Moore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Payton Blunt was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayla Scholl, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Prairie lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Heritage lost 13-3 to Skyview on Friday.
Loreli Medina Cardenas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Prairie pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Prairie has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Heritage struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Prairie beat Heritage 6-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Timberwolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
