The Necedah Cardinals will challenge the Pittsville Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Necedah is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Hillsboro on Monday as they made off with a 21-12 win. The Cardinals not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 14, 2024 (when they won 16-0).
Addisyn Schumer was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and eight unearned) runs off 13 hits. Schumer was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Kiesling, who went 4-for-5 with seven RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hannah Hunkins, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and one double.
Necedah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .617. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Pittsville made easy work of Tri-County on Monday and carried off a 21-10 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Pittsville got a massive performance out of Lana Vollert, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. With that strong performance, Vollert is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Halle Friday, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Necedah and bumps their season record up to 6-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Pittsville, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.
Necedah might still be hurting after the 15-5 defeat they got from Pittsville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Cardinals have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
