Recap: Saranac Lake Red Storm vs. Plattsburgh Hornets
The Saranac Lake Red Storm entered their tilt with the Plattsburgh Hornets with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Saranac Lake came out on top in a nail-biter against Plattsburgh on Thursday and snuck past 61-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Caleb Akey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 33 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Saranac Lake's points. Brady Owens was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
Saranac Lake's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Plattsburgh, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saranac Lake will face off against Franklin Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin Academy is coming into the match with five straight losses at home, meaning Saranac Lake will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Plattsburgh, they will head out on the road to square off against Saranac at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
